furnace indicates calling for heat but no fire


I have an XV90 Trane furnace which the indicator light blinks continuous ( which according to manual means calling for heat) but doesn't fire unless I turn power off and back on? Any thoughts? I swap out thhermostate bu;t same issue

Your furnace has more than likely gone into a soft or a hard lock out and when you turn off the power and turn it back on you reset the control board.

Next time it does this count the blinks or flashes. As the led flashes it is telling you a fault code. To count the flashes, watch the led and when there is a 2 or 3 second pause between flashes start counting.

Something like this

Flash, Flash, Flash,,,,Flash, Flash, Flash,,,,Flash, Flash, Flash

Fault code 3. Somewhere on the furncce door there should be a fault code list that will tell what the code means....go from there
