Furnace goes out frequently

My Snyder General Comfortmaker (8/91) model GUG07A012IN Will go out with the flashing LED light inside. I can turn off the power switch and turn it back on to reset it. It will run for a while, then kick out again. What can I do to fix this? It seems this has electronic ignition and will fail to light 3 times before it has an external lockout. My manual states if it was the ignition modual, the LED would not flash, but be a steady light.

Furnace goes out frequently

The flashing LED is giving you a code. Your supposed to count the number of flashes, there should be some kind of sticker on the furnace telling you what the fault code is, it may be on the inside of the blower door. I'm not sure on a Snyder General. But from what you describe it is an ignition fault, you say it tries to light three times before it locks out? So what happens? Do you see the ignitor glow? Do the burners actually light for a couple of seconds then shut right off? If they do, it is probably just a dirty flame sensor.

Actually, I replaced the flame sensor and have not had a problem in the last 4 days. Thanks for the posts.
