Furnace fan wont start

My furnace fan will not start in auto mode or manual on mode. However, if I set it to manual on I can get it to run by carefully spinning the fan blades manually. This will start the fan and it will continue to run fine until I turn it off. At least I have heat but I would like to be able to get it working properly so that I can set it back to auto mode. Any ideas?

My experience says starter capacitor distorts to some degree when it goes. Probably on start up. If it looks like it got a bulge on top or side, it probably went. Wouldn't hurt to wiggle some wires that come out of motor where they connect to a board somewhere. Could be loose from vibration of slightly corroded. Do that with safety switch off.
