I have a Magic Chef forced air furnace with a burner problem.
The problem is the pilot light comes on, but the burner wonít light.
This may seem strange, but 2 months ago it did it for the first time and I went to check it and the pilot was burning so all I did was blow on the pilot light and the burners came on.
I havenít had another problem with it until I turned the thermostat down a few days ago, now I turned it back up and it keeps doing it now.
Yesterday when it happened I noticed that the ignition control was humming pretty load, but it still lit when I blew on it. When it lit the humming stopped.
Wondering if the ignition control module is going bad ?
Itís a Robertshaw SP715A ignition control
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the fast response.
I don't think it's gas problem as the pilot is lighting and burning normal.
It's like the little sensor thing behind the pilot flame isn't opening up the gas valve to the burners. Don't know what it's called.
