Furnace Blowing Out Cooler Air

Just purchased a house last summer. Inspector said the furnace was a high efficiency 2-4 year old furnace.

Noticed the air coming out isn't hot but slightly cooler than warm, but not cold. The house eventually somehow warms up after staying on for awhile. Is this normal? I've lived in apartments for the last 12 years and this is my first house. The house I grew up in blew out really warm or hot air.

The thermostat is on heat, not fan or cold. Suggestions, problems, answers?

Thanks.

Furnace Blowing Out Cooler Air

In the past furnaces were often oversized for the house. Oversized furnaces will kick out warmer blasts of air than properly sized furnaces. It sounds like your furnace is doing it's job by reaching it's setpoint.

Another thing to consider is that your furnace's fan will run until the furnace is cooled off, resulting in a feeling of "cool air" coming from the vent from time to time.
