Wasn't trying to make him feel bad about it... It's not just him.. Alot homeowners have units installed & never think about maintance .Alot of people won't buy a mantaince contract because they think it's a waste of $$ like I'm trying to squeeze xtra $ out of them for something they don't really need..

To other DIYERS ...Don't put your family at risk have your units inspected yearly

I was just funnin' 'ya Ken...

You are right, however. Too many home owners do neglect the furnace.

Last year a customer who I had serviced three times before got angry when I found the inducer going bad on her furnace. So like why even do the annual inspection if the HO won't fix whats wrong.?

Some thing like a flame going engolfing the burner is something that happens over time.

The question is what are you going to do to correct it? If you need more info than ask away, we aim to please.
A Pro would inspect the cell and declare it dead or repairable. Have you called any body yet. If you have question ask away. It's just going to get colder the longer you wait.

furnace

hey thanks for the help. took the furnace apart and cleaned everything out, there was a lot of soot build up. before i put it back together i had one of the heating guys from work stop and go over everything he said it looked good, he didn't find any thing wrong with the cell. put it back together and all 3 burners are burning equal, the guy from work said that it looked like it was suppose to. thanks again for the help, i really do appreciate it

Hope you have CO detectors in your house. Everybody should have one in the basement and one near your bedroom.

Just out of curiosity, what things does a tech look for or do during yearly maintenance?

i just came back from a two and a half seasonal check. I document everything from the safety of the furnace thru the resistance and amp draw of every component.
