The furnace would not stop running yesterday, so i was told to check the relay. Tap on the relay with a screwdriver or something to loosen it because it maybe sticking. I took the blower out of the furnace, put it back, tapped on the relay and it (the blower) started working. I turned the system on it took a few minutes for the outside system to come on and when it did it soon turned back off and now it want come on again. What do you think the problem is?

Is this a furnace or a heat pump?

Best to check things with a meter, tapping with a screw driver doesn't tell you much about what is wrong. Unless you know what isn't wrong.
