Frustrated: switching from robertshaw 8625 thermostat to hunter 4155c

I am changing programmable thermostats from a robertshaw 8625 to a hunter 41255c. the following wires were hooked up to the robertshaw:
red wire- R- 24 VAC return
blue wire- C- 24 vac transformer common side
yellow wire- Y1- Compressor relay stage 1
orange wire- O- reversing valave (cool active)
white wireand brown wire-W2/E- 2nd stage heating control.

The humter 4155c shows the following in the manual:
RH= 24 volt- previous label rh/r/vr/4
RC= 34 volt cool- previous wire labelRC/VC
Y/O= a/c compressor- previous wire Y/C/M/O
W/B= heating
G= Fan previous wire G/F
Y1= heat pump compressor- previous wire Y1
can somebody please help me figure out which wires goes with which new connection. I am not that electrical savvy, and have been trying to figure it out for two hours now.

I do believe you're going to need a stat with a common terminal.

red wire to the rh or rc terminal with a jumper wire to the other.

orange and yellow to the y/o on the new stat, cool and reversing valve. cool active means that when the stat is calling for cool it energizes the reversing valve.

white wire to w/b

brown wire to Y1.

there needs to be a wire, most likely a green one, to the fan/g terminal. your old stat should have one.

the last two, the brown and the white, may need to be switched as it's first and secondary heat but again, nothing may work without that common wire, it is needed to close all calling circuits.

Orange and yellow wire can't both be on the Y terminal. It would not be able to go into heat mode wired that way.

Check the install manual. Should tell you if you can program the Y/O to just be an O function terminal.

that thermostat will not work with a heat pump with aux heat.

from the owners manual
