floor vent placement ?
i am rehabing my new to me, old house. it has vents in the floors.
what i am wondering is = how do you determine where to place these vents ? as in, covering the room with heat from the vent. but also considering furniture placement. the best place would be under where the closet door would open above. but that, i don't think (?) would give complete coverage of the room. thanx for any ideas.

floor vent placement ?
I always put the register at the point of greatest heat loss/gain,and that would be beneath the window.
Furniture placement is not a factor in determing where the heat should go. Returns are usually best on inside wall/floor. |

Yep, near a window or outside exit/entrance door.

floor vent placement ?
ok. here is the room layout, basicly. walk into the room, door on the left corner. walk straight forward, is the closet door on the wall to the left, all the way back to the outside wall, left of window. ideally, a vent under this open closet door would be great. but i do not know if that would heat the room properly.
there is going to be 1 return, in the middle of the house.
