What is the best type of 2x12 floor register that I can get that won't rust or stain?

I found this one, but it says rust proof damper box included. I need something rust and stain proof on the exterior. Any recommendations?

What do you consider "stain proof?"

I'm confused on what size register I currently have. When I buy a register that says it's 4x12 vs 2x12 what are they measuring? Which one should I get in my case?

The ID of the register is its size. You probably have a 2 1/4X12.

You can always take it with you to HD or Lowes.

So the plastic label should say 2 1/4x12? That's where I'm confused.

Yes. A 2 1/412 will measure just under 2 1/4X12.
