flex insulated duct and noise?

Does insulated flex duct (R-6) 8" diameter attenuate noise? It's a noisy freeway outside and I can hear it from my bathroom fan sometimes but that is using just dryer hose type duct without insulation.

I will be adding a vent to the outside wall and I was wondering if I will hear the noise brought in by insulated ducting similar to the bathroom fan.

It will attenuate some of the noise. How much varies with length of the duct. And how much noise is coming into it from the intake hood.
