Flare Nut types

Is there a difference between a HVAC flare nut for R410A and a flare nut one would find at Lowes/Home Depot?

I need to get from a 3/8" to a 1/2" connection for my mini split but the adapter seems to be leaking. I was wondering if there is angle difference with flare nuts????

Usually a flare nut is a flare nut. Most times you have a leak because of the flare.

Yes there could be a difference. Most 410a flare nuts are thicker than the standard flare nut that you can buy at the box stores.

If you are matching it with a mini split the angle might be slightly different also. Might need a 410a flare tool as well.
