filters are disappearing into furnace
I have no idea what I'm talking about, so, please bare with me! My furnace has at least 3 filters in it at the present time. I know this isn't right! I didn't put the first 2 (landlord did), but put the 3rd in because I'm a smoker and use a better filter than he does...you slide them into the only space available and I guess when the furnace turns on, it sucks it up in there somewhere and there's no place to retrieve it! Should I turn off the power to it and stick my hand/arm up in there? Am I using the wrong size filter?? (No book available) Call the manufacturer?? Help!!

if they fit in the track top and bottom they should stay put.the only place they can go is into the fan section from the slidein point, shu the furnace switch OFF on the side of the furnace and remove the bottom panel.they should be in there.if the filer is 16 X 20 X1 or 20 X 20 X 1 and has a framed cardboard border(like a picture frame) it should stay in the track....those missing filter can't go any further then that motor section......check it out.
