Filter Quality for Carrier Fan Coil

I have a couple Carrier ceiling mounted Fan Coils and wanted your opinion on the best quality filters to use. Currently we are using the washable filters provided from the manufacturer but the medal frames are getting bent, making it hard to remove and clean. Also, it seems it is not doing that great of job as the evaporators are taking in a good amount of dirt.

The model number of this unit is FX4CNF....

Filter Quality for Carrier Fan Coil

those washable filters are next to JUNK IMO. for a commercial app we get filter racks made at a sheet metal shop with a chicken wire/screen backing and use filter media that comes off a roll (from AAF, american air filter or others) cut it with scissors apply it and replace it once a month. washables don't do a good job as they are nothing more than a sponge. if you want to mess with them and spray them with commercial filter coat oil spray or PAM then that will catch the dust ( used to do that on metal commercial filters ) but it is a HUGE pain in the butt to clean them and recoat later. easier to do the filter roll media stuff or buy disposable merv 7 or 8 filters to fit in there.
