A few questions about our furnace

Hi everyone, over the last few days I noticed our furnace is "shaking" or "vibrating"... if that makes sense? Basiclly, when it fires up, it kind of "rumbles" the whole floor. Also, is it normal for the blower to kick on for 30 sec or so THEN the burner fires up? It seems like it is blowing cool air before warm air.The furnace is only about 6 years old. I am not sure of the model and size, but I can check when I get home.

A few questions about our furnace

Could it be that it's not the blower but a power vent that is turning on before the furnace fires?

I am not sure what that means, but I can say for sure cold air starts coming out for about 30 sec, then you can hear the burner fire up and it almost instantly turns warm/hot.

Also, any thoughts on the rumbling with it fires up?

What that means is you probally have a small combustion air blower in side the furnace cabinet that starts before the burner fires but that does not sound to me that is your problem. The blower motor is not suppose to energize before the burner fires and this is controlled by either an electrical/temp switch or a electronic control board that times the blower on. Control boards are not adjustable and would need replacing if not functioning properly temp switches are adjustable would need to know what you have.
As for the rumbling can be many things that cause this such as flame roll out, delayed ignition, blower noise out of balance due to lint build up and the list goes on and on.

So, where should I start trouble shooting?

Don't know what type controls you have a Pic would be nice but you need to remove the cover on the front of the burner chamber and watch the burner come on. Do not remove the cover on the blower chamber as there is a switch that prevents the gas valve from opening if that cover is removed.
