Fedders Thru Wall Issue

I got the Fedders AC for my wall sleeve and installed it; however, the compressor comes on for 5 minutes then it switches to fan and after 30-40 minutes the compressor comes back on for another 4-5 minutes. I did notice that the lip of the sleeve that was inside the house was very hot as well as the sides of the chassis that was out of the sleeve. Is this a venting issue at the rear of the AC Sleeve? How can I fix this? I have the Fedders sleeve and the Fedders 10k BTU AC.

is this a window unit slid into wall sleeve if it is your either stacking the condenser air or starving it.... the outer sleeve shouldn't be hot with compressor tripping be careful your beating up the compressor....unit discharges out the sides has to be totally outside as if in a window not a sleeve...

99% of window units suck air through the sides and discharge out the back.
If there's not enough space on the sides for the proper amount of air to be drawn in it will overheat and shut down and eventually will burn out.

Fedders Thru Wall Issue

I got it fixed, it's the correct wall unit not the window unit. I forgot to remove the fedders backing on the sleeve so the air was not venting.
