FAU fan won't shut off unless breaker is switched to off


i replaced my old stat with a honeywell rth111 series nonprogrammable and hooked up the wires as instructed. cool a/c worked fine, but when i switched it to heat for the first time, the fan came on and woouldnt go off unless the breaker was thrown. fan swithc on the stat is set to auto.

on the subbase the G is GREEN stat wire and the W is the WHITE stat wire
