Fan shuts off before desired temperature reached?
I just fired up the A/C for the first time this season and this is the first time we'll be using it a lot. We bought the house in September and didn't need it much. I'm sittin here sweating! I am trying to figure out why the system would shut off before it reached the desired temp. House is 75 and I set it to 70. It shut off at 74. I forced the fan on and it seems likea few minutes later the condenser did go back on.
Does it take breaks?!? |

Fan shuts off before desired temperature reached?
is the stat mercury type??????if so might not be level and the cover thermometer might be off a bit.if your digital there should be a program setting menue within the stat to look at and set range or reaction value from setpoint.one thing id your occuppied and using the cooling leave the fan in the on position during the summer it will keep the house more balanced cooling wise.the condenser will cycle off the stat setpoint, but the fan will stay on....in auto the fan runs only if the condenser runs from a setpoint call for cooling.
