extentsion to vemar outside ducts

I had wanted to move my venmar 3100 some and I don't think the vents going outside are long enougth. Its the 6 inch round insulated vent with the vapour barrier.I may have to add 1 foot or 2. I have some of the left over ducking, could I just splice it in? I have some left over metal taping, thought I could tape the plastic tubing on bot the inside and outside and then again tape the vapour barrier on the outside.

Use a short piece of 6" pipe as a coupler . Tape alone will not hold.
