evaporator pan


my evaporator drain pan does not drain untill unit turns off. condensate backs up and drips over pan. i have cleaned the drain and i cant figure out why the water will not drain until the unit is turned off

this is a exsisting unit not a new install? and your talking about the pan inside the air handler...sorry have to ask

The drain trap may be improperly configured. Can you post a pic?

evaporator pan


sounds like ur evaporator blower motor is sucking up air through your drain lines. can you check if there are any openings in your drain system? also check to see if you have a P-trap
