Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) for Basement
I'm building house with a 3300 sq ft basement. I'm converned about humidity.

Has anyone here had experience with using an ERV in your basment for ventilation and moisture removal?

I'd rather use an ERV than a dehumidifier if possible.

While an ERV alone will help, humidity control is not its primary purpose. You would need an ERV with humidity regulation in order to have any serious impact.

Are you sure you want a ERV and not an HRV. An ERV is a recovery wheel and a HRV is a plate exchanger. The ERV will recovery the indoor humidity and blow it back into the basement. The HRV is will vent all the air outside, but on a humid day you may bring in more humidity than your exhausting. Unless you live in a dry climate like Utah, you will need a huge amount of outside air to dry out your basement.
Dehumidifiers are only designed to dry rooms, ERV are made to recover air conditioned rooms.
