electric Furnace trouble

The furance has only been in use since 2007.Last year my furance stopped producing quality heat and I discovered that a coil was not engaging, so I replaced that and found the smoke had escaped my sequencer-replaced that and the coil. The wiring seems simple and I had a qualified technian check the voltage and current to the switches after a coil went out after I replaced the Sequencer. Now this year, the furance is emmiting heat but the coil is not on. I hear a hum seems like only one coil is turning on again.

Probably another sequencer.

is this in an attic?

Its in the hallway, a downdraft to floor vents. The trouble started when a moth flew up into the heating coils. Do I have to replace that every year? should I just upgrade the unit?

I'm taking a guess that the sequencer is the problem. In some attics they have problems on a regular basis.

Should be checked with a meter to find out what is wrong before taking action.

A 3 year old furnace I would fix. Could be just a bad batch of sequencers that got used in your equiptment. Most last many years before failing, some never fail the whole life of the furnace.

second question

Its a very noisy Furance so I was thinking I could add insulation to dampen the effect, where and what would I use? Inside or/and out?
