Electric Forced Air Furncace
I have a Trane forced air unit that runs on a 3 ton geo. Right now it is set up for propane backup but not fully hooked up. Is it possible to change it to electric instead of propane.
Our electric rate is .11 kwh and our propane is $1.90/gallon. The backup would only run on the very cold nights in jan. and feb. probably around 10-20 nights those 2 months. Is there that much cost difference between electric and propane at those rates?
Last question, does propance and electric forced air run the same temp for air? I know the geo is colder than the propane but dont know about the electric compared to propane?
Main reason is we dont use propane for anything else in the house and need to get a 250 lbs tank set up, seems like alot of cost to get set up and only use it a couple of times a year.
