ECM Module Question.

My FHP geothermal system took a dump on me the other day, but thankfully with a little help from a friend in the business I tracked down the problem to simply being the ECM module that sits off of the backside of the blower motor housing. My system works fine, just that the blower motor isn't working. The motor spins freely by hand and doesn't get hot when it's called to be on, so I am assuming the motor itself is good. When I took off the module there was some condensation inside of it, which is apparently a no no. So now I am looking for a new ECM, mine is marked "GE ECM MTRS ECM 2.3 by regal-beloit DG02 3/4hp 120/240V built 02/17/06". My local HVAC guys are pretty much clueless. I am not sure whether a ECM module with the same specs but potentially different make will work, might there be specific programming for my unit or do they all within the 2.3 series work the same way?
Any help would be appreciated.

ECM Module Question.

Google zebra EC M repair kit. If you replace the whole module it will be specific for your application.

ECM Module Question.

In simple terms it's like a circuit protector for when those capacitors charge. They get a little too hot from a dirty filter, undersized duct or power surges and the wire pops out the side leaving you with an open circuit. You should be able to see the bad connection and a charred spot on the component if that's whats wrong. If it doesn't look damaged then it's new module time, which as you know is a real bite in the wallet.

ECM Module Question.

I will take a pic and post it, don't see any charring but it does look like the wires are raised or near the surface of that diode (the one the zebra kit replaces). Crossing fingers that this is what will fix it.

Does anyone have a decent online source to get a new ECM if needed?

ECM Module Question.

A VS ECM is specific to the brand and model of the unit it is in. So unless you have the programming kit, your stuck with OEM only.

ECM Module Question.

Buy and install a VZPRO too, these motors and X13s are prone to failure, many can be reprogrammed if software is available. We reprogram the AmStd and trane's all day long
