Dynamic Air Filter - Worth it?

This house we bought has a Dynamic Air Filter on each of the 3 air handlers.

Supposedly electrostatically attracts dust to its carbon fiber center.

Do these really work is it a mostly marketing BS?

Just wondering if I should pony up 50 bucks for 3 replacement filters......

They are great if you have allergies. As for the cost of the filters, shop around. Now if you decide to disable the actual unit, and want to use regular filter media, you would have to use media that is wide enough to be placed inside the unit. Costs varies.

There are a few out on the web. If you post the model #, dimensions of current filter size (height, width, length), there are a couple of guys on here that will let you know specifics of which type of hepa will fit, if you do not want to continue to run as an electrostatic unit.

I know 2 of the 3 units take 20 x 20 x 1. Not sure of the other one offhand.

I'd be interested in reliable cheap vendors that sell good hepa and/or Dynamic refills.

Dynamic filters are great as long as you change the dang thing on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.

The cheapest source I have found online is 46 bucks for 3 20x20x1 Dynamic Filters. Any cheaper places you know of?
