dye

I had to add r22 to my system a week ago today it was froze up. I have been looking for a leak using soapy water & spray bottle but see none. Is the dye for 134a compatable with r22.
I took the plenum cover off & the a coil is clean sprayed with soapy water see nothing? Als see no oil residue?
The unit is about 20 yrs old a carrier with cap tubes. Thanks
Also live up north so total run time is less than desert spots
Thanks
