ducting an exhaust fan

cleaning my basement I can across an unused Broan 509S. An eight inch through the wall fan. I can sure use it now.
First can I duct it about 15 feet to isolate the noise?
If so is flexduct the easiest? What is the downside to reducing it to six inches duct
What is the easiest way to make a branch for a second room.
Thanks
