duct work to second floor

I am about to go into framing on a house I am building for my wife and I, have not talked to hvac sub yet (haven't hired on yet).....we have a 1560 sq. ft. 1 1/2 story w/ about 450 s.f. upstairs....we have plenty of room in crawl space for handler and duct work and would prefer not to have a handler upstairs......we have designated a 2' x 2' area for duct work inside a closet that leads to upstairs attic.....is this enough space for supply/return ducts for upstairs??? We have not decided on a zone, two, or single unit.
