Duct placement?

First, I'd like to thank the considerate poster at another board who directed me here.

I am the not so proud non original owner of a poorly done DIY installed HVAC system. The supplies are all in the center of rooms (even those with outside walls. The return is at fllor level in the shared wall with the garage. The thermostat is above and 3 ft to the right of the return.

I'd like to know if any of this is close to correct. The system doesn't do a good job of even heat/cool distribution. Since I need to move the duct in the kitchen some, should I leave as close to present or locate it for better flow over the outside walls ( 2 walls at a right angled are on the outside and the garage)

Duct placement?

If you take a video of it all and post it on YouTube perhaps we can help. Sounds like you need some local Pro advice on how to size it properly etc. Not something we can do over the net.
