Duct leaks

What's the best way to find leaks in ductwork? My ducts are in the attic and I'm pretty sure I have a or even some leaks, what's the best way to find them so I can repair?

Physically get into the attic and visually inspect for leaks. The attic will be much hotter than the the cold air flowing through the ducts so have the system on and in cooling mode and literally feel around the ducts for any possible leaks, especially where they connect at the plenum and at the registers.

The cheapest thing I know of is getting some of those incense sticks that give off smoke as well as scent.Light it,and hold it all around each duct connection.Where you see the smoke flutter away from duct (while the fan is running) on the supply side is an indication of a leak.On the return side, the smoke is likely to be drawn intoward the leak.
Good luck.

Blower door test will also indicate duct leakage for ducts that are outside the envelope.

I use my lighter

Nothing some versabond won't fix

In my area, Washington dc, they are requiring blower door tests on almost everything and we end up sending someone around "seek and destroy" style all over the place
