Dual 4" Vent Box?

Hello All,

I have a 4" dryer vent duct and a 4" exhaust fan duct that I would like to vent outside at the same location. I know its against code for them to share the same ducting and vent but I was wondering if anyone made a "Dual Vent" Like this one but for dual 4" ducts?: http://www.hvacsolutionsdirect.com/p...x-SKU1686.html

Also has anyone used something like this before?

Thanks in advance,

Lee

Its a duct connector, known as a Y. You can connect both 4" runs to it and one 6" run to it, to allow for air flow.

I was under the impression that with a dryer you couldnt share a duct vent, is this not the case?

Thanks,

Lee

Depends. You'd have to call you city mechanical inspectors office..
I've done it, commercial, and was legal. Two restroom exhaust fans tied to a y.

Two fans is OK to do. It's against code to have a dryer vent and a fan together.
