Dryer duct cleaning

2 yrs ago we had a pro install 6' dryer vent ducts. We used to have 4' ducts. This minimized the total from 100 feet with all the bends down to 30 feet. We purchased a front loader dryer which has handled wonderfully since.

This is in our basement leading outside. They also installed a plastjc lint trap on the outside which also helps keep away little critters,etc........I always keep this area clean, but my question is how often should I take a vacuum hose and clean the duct from the outside?
