draft motor noise

I have an Armstrong Ulta V furnace. The draft motor is making a lot of noise and does not shut off. Burner ignites fine. Is this just a problem with the motor or something else?

The draft motor does not shut off after desired set point is reached via stat and heat turns off, until next cycle?

If that's the case than the control board is bad.

On call for heat: draft inducer first, closes pressure switch, ignitor than gas turns on. after all of that with flames present, then the blower starts, roughly and on average about 30 seconds after flames.

inducer stays on during heat.

Once stat is satisfied, inducer and flames shut off but blower remains on for whatever it's set for on blower off delay. 90 seconds, 120 seconds, etc.. but it stays on for a bit after heat is cut off, mandatory.

check next time the ID is running down at the furnace remove the W wire coming into the control board heating or not the main gas should shut down along with the ID if it doesn't the black mounted relay on the board is arched closed tap both with the handle of a screwdriver.one is the supply fan the other is the ID

Based on what has been said so far, it seems to be working fine except the noise. Indicator light says normal operation. I removed the fan motor and there are no obvious issues. Is the motor going bad?

it should not stay on or moisture will condense inside the heat exchanger and damage it. it should not be able to restart the burner w/o shutting down as the press switch needs to open and board check that B4 the next cycle. sounds like the board is bad. within a yr the motor will fail as it runs at 3400 rpm and will wear out in no time.

Getting different opinions. Should the inducer motor stay on while the burner is on or not?

thermostat. the inducer shuts off between burner and heat cycles. proper sequence of op is tstat turns on inducer, vacuum is produced which closes press switch and proves there is air for safe combustion. igniter glows and lites burner, fan starts. house warms up, tstat shuts off burner AND inducer stops, fan stops after 2-3 mins. board should check for an open press switch b4 it allows the burner to fire. otherwise there is a problem with it and it is VERY unsafe. have no way to prove safe combustion w/o that check.

Thanks Yuri, Sequence works as you describe. I come to the conclusion that the motor is going and needs to be replaced.

may want to do it sooner than later as Xmas is coming. Armstrong is owned by Lennox and cozyparts.com is a good lennox parts guy, not sure if they can access armstrong parts but you may want to try them.

Now that the temp is below the "stat" temperature, inducer motor tries to start, does not. Shuts down and I get an indicator that pressure switch is open should be closed.
