Draft Inducer running all the time.

I have a 13yr old Janitrol combo unit. Everything runs fine but the Fasco draft inducer runs all the time even when the AC is running. Pretty much it will run 15sec or so cut off for 1-2sec then back on over and over again. Replaced the main control board last year.

Should I replace the draft inducer or is this problem related to something internal? Maybe a pressure switch or an inducer control board???

That's wierd. The fan relay for the inducer motor is on the circuit board. The vent motor shouldn't turn on unless you were calling for heat...that sounds like your W tstat wire is coming into play. Try disconnecting your W wire at the board, run it on cooling and see what happens.

Now that you say it. That reminds me. I did change the tstat in the house last year as well. When I did the heat would turn on randomly and not turn off unless u cut off the main power. Put the old stat back on and whala started working normally again. Now this.......

I will try the W wire at the board and see what happens.

Well, if your old tstat makes everything work right, then it sounds like (1) a bad new tsat or (2) you wired the new one up wrong

(1) bad new tstat yes. (2) I installed it wrong !!NO!! I hired a pro for that one and HE prolly did install it wrong. That has been my experience with the "pro's" (local HVAC techs) and thats why I am here. Sorry it took me so long to reply, had a shower pan issue and installed some hardwood floors....just have not had the chance over the past 3 weeks or so. Thanks so much for your advice!! New tstat did the trick after all. So much for my local tech's.......

Draft Inducer running all the time.

Depending on the new thermostat, it may not have been 100% completely compatible with your furnace, if it was a power stealing thermostat.

Your current issue, if your using your old stat, may be the board is bad, or a loose wire connection on the line voltage side of the furnace.
