Do I need a power vent water heater?

I currently have a natural vent gas furnace and water heater, both venting through a b-vent.

If I replace the furnace with a high-efficiency model that vents through the wall, do I also need to replace the water heater with a power vent model?

Or can the water heater continue to vent through the b-vent?

One contractor says no problem, the other did not mention the natural vent as an option.

Price would be 600 more for a power vent Bradford-White heater compared to natural vent.

No you don't have to replace the water heater all you need to do is cap off the pipe the the heater was vented to or remove the Y and replace it with a single vent opening sized for the water heater flue pipe.
