Question

DIY Supply & Return ductwork?

Does anyone know of a ductwork supplier that sells to homeowners? I have roughly (2) 5.5-foot supply runs and (1) 7-foot return run to install. Any ideas would be welcome. Would like to save $$$, and do the job myself, if at all possible.

Do you mean besides home depot and lowes?? Both have common ductwork in the NJ area. If you want customized talk to a sheet metal shop. I had quotes from two and selected the one that installed my furnace. Some HVAC installers also have sheet metal shops. You provide the measurments....
See my before and after photos to the left for an example of a small return drop converted to a large one with a media filter added. (To see all the pics click "my photos" first then you have to click the title)

I've stopped by both places and found some items that might work, but I do need some specialty connectors from rectangular to round in the sizes and dampers that neither one carry. From one sheetmetal shop they must have thought I had endless pockets as their pricing was mind-boggling. I need to continue to look around our area for more fabricators. The cost of going to an online store is that shipping costs end the deals.
