I have an oil boiler with a Honeywell L7224 aquastat. There's a DHW coil installed but I no longer wish to use it, since it was burning up a lot of oil outside of heating season. A 40 gallon electric water heater was installed off of the coil.
Question is, I want to disable the LO setting on the boiler, that existed for the DHW coil. I downloaded the manual, and managed to drop the low down to 110 degrees (as low as it'll go). The only settings I can change are HI, LO, DIFF, and F/C temperature display. I contacted Honeywell and they refuse to give me an information unless I'm a contractor.
You can pull the wire to the LO (it's on a quick disconnect), but you would need to make sure your boiler is cold-start. Mine is, but it's also at least 12 years old and leaked a lot of condensation when I did that. I just leave it at that minimum 110 degree setting now.
