We recently found out that we have a mold in the house. Pencillium Asper... something... anyways.
the recommendation to get rid of it, is to have a dehumidifier.
As a way of background, our home has had no AC since the beginning of summer. The humidity went to quite high levels (70% in the bedrooms), since we installed the central AC, the levels have lowered to
40% - bedrooms/upstairs
45% - main floor
55%-60% - basement
Should I simple buy a portable dehumidifier and leave it in the basement? or should I install a whole-house dehumidifier?
I got a brand new York branded Furnace, AC, and Air Media Filter.
I am in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Let me know if anyone needs additionally information.
the levels are normal and safe now that the AC is doing it's job. just took a long time for the wood and furniture to give off it's moisture/dry out from the lack of AC. get a Professional house cleaning/disaster restoration co to properly get rid of the mold or it will never go away and your health will suffer.
