Cost and EVER-REST questions

Our central air unit is ready to go. Will have to get a new one prior to next summer. I'm trying to get some high level info on a couple of items:

1. Our HVAC vendor installs Ever-Rest units (not sure if they also install others but this is the one touted on their site). Anyone ever hear of this company and if so, any opinions as I don't know much about them...
2. I'll need a 4 ton unit (and probably get 14 SEER). Anyone know a rough approximation of what I'm looking at from an all-in cost perspective (Unit plus installation)? Just a high level guesstimate since I have no concept? I am in the Philadelphia area.

Any insight is appreciated.

Cost and EVER-REST questions

You are asking for a SWAG....Silly Wild Ass Guess....require much more info..voltages....electrical modifications to meet new equipment..distances from condenser and panel..type of wall to go out to condenser unit...new mounting pad if required. etc.,..and I'm not even an AC guy so, have likely missed quite a few points..let's see if you get any SWAGS

Sorry....had no idea. Well then how about the brand? Or how about the cost of a unit (forget installation)

Best advice I can give you is to call a few more HVAC contractors and tell them you would like them to view the current installation and give you an estimate. Ask them your questions and LISTEN to their proposals. You will learn a lot and should be able to determine what suits you and WHO suits you.

Oh I will believe me and thanks. But I'd still like to know if anyone has an opinion on ever-rest as I'm not familiar with them.

EverRest furnaces are owned and manufactured by Goodman but, that's all I can tell you about them. Maybe some of the techs who know the products can comment.
