the connector (Molex connector) 4 prong plug may be causing the problem. Inside it are pins and sockets and if the pins get pushed back and don't mate with the sockets on the board properly then you got a bad connection that can heat up and blow the board. may need a new wiring harness and board. harness may have to be special ordered as it is rare to have to replace. or you got another problem with the unit like poor grounding. need to check from the ground wire of the main unit to a copper water line by using a cheater wire and make sure you got good continuity to ground. poor grounding will blow these boards. make sure you got a full 220-240 volts supply to the main unit.

where do you live and are you prone to brownouts? There are whole home surge protectors available that attach to your electrical panel but have to be installed by a electrician. I have not heard or done research on whether they REALLY work but you can google them. May want to also make a new thread in the electrical forum at the top of our home page and ask a licensed electrician.

I live in Bryan tx . We don't get a lot of lightning storms and nothing else has been knocked out just this board and the other board last year.

you don't get brownouts/low voltage lights dimming a lot do you? California and other places have that. If you see lights dimming then maybe you got a electrical supply problem to your house or in the panel. Very rare to blow those boards that soon or often and York who makes them makes a good non el cheapo board. we had a few of these problems in the last yr and if you are very diplomatic and talk nice to your elec utility co they can put a 24 hr voltage meter recorder/clock on your house or the unit to see if the voltage dips. Be VERY diplomatic as they get defensive as people blame them for all kinds of unreal problems. Tell them 2 boards blew and maybe they will help you.
