Connect metal duct to flex?

I need to move a register over about two feet (entryway floor re-layout). The duct is currently run in metal. Is it possible to just add a 2 foot piece of flexible ducting onto the end of the metal run(after removing end piece) and then attach the end onto the flex?

Or would it be easier to just redo the entire run (about 10 feet) in flex?

THanks!

Well, they sell flex in 25 ft lengths, they sell hard pipe in 2,3,and 5 ft lengths.........if you already have the flex laying around, then yes you can just add it .

Large band clamps, ties wraps and/or mastic. Tighten them well and make sure the flex run is well supported. (ie no sag where it connects to the metal).

Tape the outer layer of the flex but don't use regular duct tape. Duct tape isn't for ducts!!

I'd use metal if I were you.
