Condensor outdoor disconnect box location

Concerning the weatherproof disconnect box for the outdoor condenser location.

I know it cannot be directly behind the ac unit, but is there rules for height off the ground and distance from unit?

Depends on your local electrical inspector and what he likes. Generally it should be within 3 feet of the unit so a tech can see it and shut it off in a hurry/emergency.

sounds good, i was more concerned with height off ground, I guess there would be something written for if flood water ever got that high or something, but im not in a flood area.

thanks
