I've noticed my condenser fan motor making noise for some time and it's starting to get a lot worse. I bought a new condenser fan motor and I'm not sure I was sold the correct part. I have a 3 wire 1/4 HP running 850 rpm but was sold a 4 wire that runs 1075 rpm. I have a feeling I should have told the guy never mind. But, he said it wouldn't hurt anything. You tell me, I've read posts elsewhere that state not to use a different RPM motor without changing the fan blade. He also sold me a 5uf 370V 2 prong capacitor and wasn't real clear on why I needed it. The unit is a York package system AC / heat pump.
