replacing a condeser fan motor that the bearing are going out on( 16yr old unit), the new fan has 4 wires not the three from the old unit. I bought the capacitor for the new one when i purchaced the motor. Correct me if im wrong but the two brown leads go to each side of the capacitor( one on each terminal) and then the White and black go to the contacts where the old ones came off. then make sure the new capacitor is secured to the condenser housing. other than that nothing else needs to happen.
Perforated metal strap works well. Make sure the capacitor is in the weatherproof electrical box where the contactor is and not exposed to rain and attached to the motor etc. If it shorts out and some kid gets electrocuted you can be sued.
"Cut it twice and it is still too short".
