Compressor while running heat
Kind of a dumb question here.
I have a contactor that is stuck in the open/on position. I've ordered my replacement and in the meantime I am just running the ac as needed. When I turn he air off I switch the inside breaker to the compressor off. That way it doesn't run without the air handler and freeze up. Its starting to get cold this weekened. If I need to turn the heat on, do I need to make sure the compressor runs with it? It doesn't..does it? Compressor is just for A/C? This is a small carrier unit. Air handler in the attic, condenser outside, gas heat. thanks |
compressor is just for a/c unless you have a Heat Pump. It does not sound like you have a heat pump though.
