Compressor Fan Not Working

Okie. Caps don't like to be shorted out. Makes a big spark. :D

On top of that, motor was bad. Found a nice HVAC electrician who would answer my question. If compressor kicks on, and fan spins backwards, motor is bad. If compressor doesn't kick on, then it's likely the compressor shorted out.

So new motor and cap installed and all is well.

Compressor Fan Not Working

Good to hear that you got it working. Hope the cost was not too high.

Compressor Fan Not Working

I grossly overpaid for the cap from Grainger. That was $24. I bought a similiar cap for $6 from the supply store. Motor was $85. So not bad even with the overpayment from Grainger.
