Comformaker Oil Furnace....Biodiesel compatable?
I have a comformaker down flow horizontal oil fired furnace with a Beckett RWB AFG oil burner and a honeywell ignition normally runs on diesel and I recently put biodiesel into the tank and it seems to be struggling...does anyone have any feedback on this process? Single mom in "family" house without a whole lot of experience in this!

That may be a big problem. Modern high efficiency oil burners are very highly tuned units and require the proper fuel they were designed for. Yours may be plugging up the nozzle or even worse may not be burning cleanly and plugging up the furnace with soot. I would get a servicetech in soon to find out what is going on. You may need a fresh batch of diesel. Sorry.

Thanks for your input...I will get a tech to come and check it out...much appreciated.

Last I knew Beckett has not approved biodeisel as a fuel source- There was talk of a 5% blend but only on select models

Make sure you tell the tech whats in your tank, I'm afraid your likely going to have to drain your tank and put the proper fuel in-

That bio, may be cleaning your tank.
Which plugs the filter, strainer, and nozzle.

And may do so, for some time to come.

From what I heard that stuff is made from the awful oil McD's uses to cook our fries and plug our arteries. Poor furnace.
