Question

Cold Air Return(s) placement

I am remodeling a typical early-60's ranch house. Attached pics show the original floor plan (the Black Arrow indicates the location of the Cold Air Return), and the new floor plan (three Arrows indicating possible locations for the Cold Air Return - Red = 1st choice, Black = 2nd choice, Pink = 3rd choice (because of the fireplace at the end of the room)). Thoughts?

The garage is being converted into an office/bathroom/laundry ... I'm thinking I'll need one out there, too. Agree/Disagree?

Do I need one in the bedroom/bath/closet area on the left side, as well?
Thanks

Cold Air Return(s) placement

With that kind of change I would think about adding multiple returns, as you can never have too much return, just too little. Adding them in individual rooms will help as well, but no returns in the bath.
