changing thermostat
I have a oil furnace with central air. I am planing on changing the thermostat with a lux tx9000. the specs say for most 220volt systems. Looks like my furnace is 120volts and the air is 220v. Is my system 120 or 220? The new thermostat is digital and programmable with battery backup.

Hi papabear

The thermostat control circuit for your system should be 24 volts. Do your self a favor, wrap a dollar bill around that LUX stat and throw it away. Then you will have thrown something away that was worth something. Probably the best jobber thermostats on the market are the White Rodgers 80 series. They are fairly inexspensive and are very reliable. Let me know if you need any further help.

Hi Rusty Thanks for your reply. You said about the white-rodgers series 80 t-stat. Where is a good place to find one? Do home improvement stores handle them?
