Changed thermostat and have problem

A few months ago I upgraded to a programmable thermostat. It worked fine for the summer. I turned the heat on this morning and the heat works but it also makes the ac unit cut on. It didn't do that with my old thermostat. Can someone tell me what I did wrong?

The brand is Hunter, model # is 44155C

The wires are:
G-blue wire
RC-red wire
RH- Red wire
Y/O-no wire
W/B-White wire
Y1-Yellow

that may be a heat pump thermostat.
Check teh instructions.
See if it is.
Also, look to see if you can set if for furnace with A/C only.
If not. Wrong stat.

Thanks for the reply. Turns out all I had to move was the yellow wire from y1 to y/o. Works great!

If it is a heatpump you should have a wire connected to the O terminal which is the reversing valve/ which reverses from heat to air. usually a brown or orange wire.
